Some pictures by Cornelis de Bruijn

De Bruijn stayed for nearly three months in Persepolis and Naqs-i-Rustan between 8 November 1704 and 23 January 1705 to draw and describe the ancient ruins there. Besides overviews like this one, De Bruijn also made many drawings of details of the ancient Achaemenid palace complex, like that of the Apadana reliefs and of cuneiform inscriptions.
